With a track record of six years in communication and design, ten years of federal service as an Army Veteran, and two years in the non-profit sector, I bring a comprehensive understanding of the public affairs landscape. Additionally, I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Indiana University and completed my Master's in Organizational Leadership in March 2024.

Veteran Affairs Content [2022-present]

As New Mexico VA Public Affairs Specialist, I serve 14 facilities in New Mexico and Colorado. My priority is ensuring VA content is accessible, relevant to our area, transparent, minimalistic, and veteran health-focused internally and externally. As the social media content manager, I maintain Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, and Google/Bing external sites. My feature stories highlight success stories, hospital programs, and local Veteran nonprofits for our magazines and newsletters.
My side projects are within our local VA website, monitoring reviews on Google/Bing, 508 compliance, how to navigate mental health services, promoting Rural Health initiatives, and improving direct lines of communication—veterans, caregivers, primary care, patient advocates, specialty care, and community care facilities.

INvets Content [2020-2022]

At INvets, I promoted Indiana's quality of life and veteran-friendly communities through content creation and project management. Our group collaboration improved relationships with all military base transition services, local communities, and businesses as potential employer partners. We tailored our services to transitioning service members, veterans, and their families as likely residents. I traveled across the state to create organic content—partnering with employers, local communities, and tourism. As a result, we minimized the need for stock footage for advertisements and marketing projects.

While at the US Department of Agriculture Rural Development Indiana State Office, I adopted their national office's rebrand campaign to modernize the localized state's website, created a Twitter/Flickr account, improved newsletter content, and improved relationships with ag communities, local government, and media outlets.

Veteran Affairs Content [2018 to 2019]

At Washington DC VA Headquarters, I initiated video projects, supported the Under Secretary of Health initiatives, and created graphics for the digital media department. Knowing firsthand what it was like transitioning out of the military and the struggles I faced—my critical personal goals were to support Veterans, improve public trust, and raise awareness of their 400+ Vet Center rehabilitation counseling facilities. We, as a team, did this in small segments by engaging with empathy and promoting health services.

In 2019, I traveled to the local Maryland Vet Center to film clients and the site team members. They worked closely with the Dover Air Base Dignified Transfer Air Force Mortuary Affairs during Operation Iraqi and Enduring Freedom.

In 2019, I traveled to Chicago, Illinois, to film three local Veteran Affairs Medical Centers. Filmed at the Northern Chicago Lovell Federal Health Care Center/US Navy Great Lakes region, this video highlights the importance of women's health and their delicate care.
